This is usually defined by macro-economic events, such as interest rate levels and political events. Systematic risk in the market deals with macroeconomic, or general economic, factors. Macroeconomic features look at the economy as a whole as opposed to a specific industry (such as technology stocks or utility stocks). Another name for systematic risk is a non-diversifiable risk.
